Our first fellowship of the 2026/2027 Rotary year under the leadership of President @muthonioriewo challenged us to see our continent through a different lens. Through , our keynote speaker, George “Porgie” Gachui, Co-Founder of MOOKH Africa, unpacked the economics of Africa’s disruptive youth generation and what it means to build, invest and thrive in a continent being reshaped in real time. One statistic echoed throughout the room… Kenya’s average age is just 19. This is the generation that refuses to be boxed in by tribe, convention or fear. The same generation that showed the world the power of collective action during the Gen Z movement. A generation that is questioning, creating, innovating and demanding accountability. As Rotarians, the question isn’t whether this generation will shape Kenya’s future; they already are. The real question is, how do we partner with them, invest in them and create opportunities that match their potential?

PASSING THE BATON Today, we close a remarkable Rotary year - one defined by service, partnerships, lasting friendships, and lives touched across our communities. Guided by the theme Unite for Good, the RC Ngong Road showed what is possible when people come together with a shared purpose. As President Mwende Mulandi hands over the baton to President Muthoni Oriewo, we celebrate a successful year, and a legacy of leadership rooted in empathy, collaboration, and impact. “The libraries and solar panels will stand as physical evidence of our work. The partnerships will continue to bear fruit. But the friendships that turned this Club into a family, that is the true, enduring legacy of the 2025/2026 Rotary year.” To President @mwendelynne Mwende, thank you for your vision and steadfast leadership. To President @muthonioriewo Muthoni, we wish you every success as you lead us into a new Rotary year under the theme Create Lasting Impact. The baton has been passed. The journey continues.
